Teachers’ workshop at Thalathuoya Navy Camp
With the intention of uplifting quality and standard in
teaching learning process at St. Anthony’s college, a workshop was conducted on
1st of September, 2013, at navy Camp at Thalathuoya, kandy. This worthy
course was organized and sponsored by the Sri Lanka Navy.
The day commenced with an interesting lecture given by Mr.
Aminda Methsila Perera, from Wayamba University. Our staff members were
enlightened on managing the physical and spiritual needs of their charges, the
young antonians, in order to plain their term notes and other preparations in
teaching, So that can create a proper study atmosphere at our school.
The importance of having a vision with a proper and suitable
mission to reach the goals and targets in teaching-learning process is very
much stressed here.
In the afternoon session one of the Navy Officer, Lt. Com.
Lalith Mudiyance conducted a valuable lecture on “Social Etiquette”. Through
this teachers could gather many points to bring the attention of young
Antonians, So that they can manage themselves well in their future endeavors in
moving well with the society. Further
more, he demonstrated some import areas where a teacher can be prominent with
her/his behavior. Table manners, dress code, use of cutlery, keeping smart
appearance, were some salient features mentioned.
