Teachers’ workshop at Thalathuoya Navy Camp

    With the intention of uplifting quality and standard in teaching learning process at St. Anthony’s college, a workshop was conducted on 1st of September, 2013, at navy Camp at Thalathuoya, kandy. This worthy course was organized and sponsored by the Sri Lanka Navy.

    The day commenced with an interesting lecture given by Mr. Aminda Methsila Perera, from Wayamba University. Our staff members were enlightened on managing the physical and spiritual needs of their charges, the young antonians, in order to plain their term notes and other preparations in teaching, So that can create a proper study atmosphere at our school.

    The importance of having a vision with a proper and suitable mission to reach the goals and targets in teaching-learning process is very much stressed here.

    In the afternoon session one of the Navy Officer, Lt. Com. Lalith Mudiyance conducted a valuable lecture on “Social Etiquette”. Through this teachers could gather many points to bring the attention of young Antonians, So that they can manage themselves well in their future endeavors in moving well with the society.  Further more, he demonstrated some import areas where a teacher can be prominent with her/his behavior. Table manners, dress code, use of cutlery, keeping smart appearance, were some salient features mentioned.

Prize giving 2012

The prize giving ceremony of St.Anthony's College, Kandy was held on the 26th June 2013 at the college auditorium with the minister of education to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Hon.Bandula Gunawardana as the chief guest and his lordship the Bishop of Kandy Rt. Rev. Dr. Viennie Fernando as the guest of honour. The chief minister of central province hon. Sarath Ekanayake and officials from provincial departmentof education were also present. The chief guest and other disnitaries were welcomed by the scouts followed by the guard of honour of cadets along with the western band. The guests were ushered into the hall by the kandyan 'Ves Dancing Troupe'. Hon. Bandula Gunawardana emphasized the rapid devolopments occuring in the Sri Lankan education and the importance of being well educated to face future challenges. The annual prize report was tabled to the house by the rector, Rev. Fr.henry Wijerathne OSB. Young Antonians were awarded for their excellent performance in the field of academics.
